Virtual Birdland #54: – May 2, 2021
Recorded remotely from locations around the world, Arturo O’Farrill and the mighty Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra are continuing their Sunday night Birdland residency in an online setting. Please join us every Sunday at 8:30pm ET. This week, we have freshly recorded music for you, including a slamming arrangement of Dizzy Gillespie’s “A Night In Tunisia” by Michael Philip Mossman, along with works from Luis Perdomo and Maestro Chico O’Farrill. In addition, we feature Arturo O’Farrill’s Grammy-winning composition “3 Revolutions” and revisit a highlight from our Afrobeat program, presented earlier this year. As always, the show will be accompanied by live chat and commentary from Arturo and the ALJO musicians. Please say hello and let us know where you’re watching from.
